Vegas Strip Blackjack

The Extra Features

The Vegas Strip Blackjack permits the dealer to check for a blackjack if his upcard is either a ten value card or an Ace before players begin to hit. It also permits the dealer to stand on all 17. The player on the other hand is allowed to double on any first two cards with the possibility of a double after splitting. A player can re-split twice but is not permitted to re-split Aces.

The Vegas Strip Blackjack, as well as other blackjack variations, is played with 6 decks on a semi-circular table providing for five playing positions. There are circular spaces provided for the wagers and the rest of the features are similar to other blackjack games. The player requires a hand of 21 to win or to get a hands that are higher than the dealer's without busting. If the player gets 21 or hands higher the dealer but not above 21 the player wins. The player also wins if his hands are close to 21 but the dealer has busted. This is why sometimes the option of surrender is always considered.

Rules of Vegas Strip Blackjack

  • It is played with 6 decks of cards, no jokers and cards are shuffled after every game.
  • The player may hit as many cards as are required to make 21 but must not exceed 21 which would result in an automatic loss.
  • The dealer is permitted to stand on all 17s.
  • Where both dealer's hands and the player's hands are below 21, the one whose hands are higher than the other wins while the one whose hands are lower looses.
  • The Jacks, the Queens and the Kings all are assigned the value of 10.
  • An Ace assumes either the value of 1 or 11 depending on how such values impact the player's hands. If the counting an Ace as 11 would cause the player to bust then the he would count the Ace as 1.
  • If the player is dealt an Ace and a card with a face value of 10, the player is said to have a blackjack as is required to stand automatically. Beating the dealer with a blackjack entitles the player to a payout ratio of 3 to 2.

Peeking

Peeking is allowed in Vegas Strip Blackjack (European Blackjack does not have such an option) on the side of the dealer which allows him to check the other card if his upcard is either a 10 or an ace. The purpose of peeking is to enable the dealer decide whether to make some offer to the player.
